A new 8-week acting course for improvisers with Gregory James
This 8 week course is all about using stage acting fundamentals to get the most out of your improv or sketch comedy scenes. This course focuses on stage presence, breath work, dramatic structure, character analysis and crafting, and more. You'll leave this class feeling more confident in working with scene partners, making big choices, and generally working on stage as a comedic actor.
Date/Time: Mondays 7 PM-9PM 01/27/25-03/17/25
$230 - 12 person cap/8 person minimum
This class is 18+ unless otherwise approved by the instructor.

No Refunds. If you have to drop the class and it’s before the 5th meeting, we will issue a half credit for a future class good for 6 months.

Parking: Enter the main entrance to Urban Community School on W. 47th Street, south of Lorain Ave. Follow the driveway to the main oval parking lot in front of the red tower. You can park in any space marked with a green square. You can then follow the sidewalk to Lorain Ave. You will see Imposters directly across Lorain Ave. from the school.
About Gregory James
Gregory James is a Buffalo, NY native who moved to Cleveland in 2018 to earn his MFA in Acting from the Case Western Reserve University/ Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program.
Before finding a home in Cleveland, Gregory lived in Los Angeles where he studied with The Groundlings while also working behind the scenes with notable casting directors and agents. He produced several digital sketches with Slow Clap Comedy, as well as performed and directed as a founding resident member of the Whitefire Theatre in their staged comedy shorts series.
Gregory was a member of the sketch comedy duo, Flamingo City, who toured in 2022 with stops in Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Buffalo, and Edinburgh, Scotland at the Fringe Festival. He continues to write, produce, direct, and teach locally.
Notable credits include: Clue (AEA) – Meadowbrook Theatre, Shooting Stars (SAG) – Spring Hill Productions/Lebron James, Other Side of Darkness – VS Multimedia, Summer and Smoke – Actors Co-Op Hollywood.
Refund Policy - Classes/Workshops
No refunds UNLESS we do not reach the 8 person minimum, in which case you will get a full refund or credit toward a future class. If you have to drop the class and it’s before the 5th meeting, we will issue a half credit for a future class good for 6 months. If you miss a workshop because of a positive Covid diagnosis, we will give you a credit for a future workshop good for 6 months.
